When a tooth can’t be saved, it’s removed. At Tooth Point Dental Care a simple extraction costs ৳500–1,500, and surgical removal of an impacted wisdom tooth ৳3,000–8,000. The procedure is done under local anaesthesia, so it isn’t painful.
When you need it
When extraction is needed
- Decay too advanced for even a root canal to save
- A tooth loosened by gum disease
- A wisdom tooth erupting crooked, causing pain or infection
- Creating space for braces
- Milk teeth that haven't fallen out on time
We never recommend removing a tooth that can be saved. You’ll always be told what the alternatives are first.
How it’s done
Aftercare
Bite on the gauze for 30–45 minutes. For the first 24 hours: no rinsing, no spitting, no drinking through a straw. Eat cool, soft food.
Avoid smoking — it delays healing and risks dry socket. After 24 hours, rinse gently with warm salt water. Finish the full course of medication.
Call us immediately if: bleeding doesn’t stop, swelling becomes severe, or pain increases after day 3.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about extraction
Not during the procedure — you’ll feel pressure but no pain. Soreness for 2–3 days afterwards is normal and controlled with medication.
If it erupts straight and causes no pain or infection, it can stay. If it’s angled against the neighbouring tooth or the gum swells repeatedly, removal is better.
Usually 2–3 months, once the bone and gum have healed fully.
